OH GRACIE!

motherhood blog

i was recently having a conversation with a girlfriend when the topic of our lives pre-kids came up. we shared a laugh and both agreed that although life before having kiddos was a great one, neither of us would trade it for what we have now. yes, my life before grace was a bit more “relaxed” but life with her is much fuller (to say the least).

i love being a momma now more than ever. at 2 years grace has proven to be one of my favorite people to talk to. she’s smart, witty, gentle and has the memory of an elephant.   conversations with her are fun and always entertaining.

me: gracie do you need to peepee? grace: “mommy i don’t need to peepee. i already peeped today. maybe tomorrow”

“umm no i don’t need to clean up now. i’ll clean up later”

“mommy hold this toy for a minute please there’s too much sun out here i need my glasses”

“i don’t want to see baby jacks belly button today” (not sure where that came from)

“mommy you not feeling so good. You need a checkup and your memicine”

i wore a dress last week. gracie looked up at me and said “mommy you’re a princess. You’re beautiful”

at the pool “mommy i want to go down to the bottom and swim like ariel and flounder and say SHARK”

while dropping papa off at work “daddy go to work and please come back soon”

at chik-fil-a “mommy i want to buy a milkshake on Wednesday” like she knows what that means.

oh yes! I’m all about writing them down and allowing her to pronounce things a bit wrong. she has her whole life to speak properly :0)
