There are a few hairstyles that are tried and true for me.  They are quick and help me feel put together in just a few minutes regardless of how long it’s been since my last wash or if I have just five minutes to get ready.  My secret… braids!

I love braids, milkmaid braids, boho braids, and simple french braids. They are easy, can be done in the car on the way to church and never go out of style!

Today I’m sharing four of my favorite braids and step by step pictures and how I begin my haircare routine with AVEENO® products from Walmart!

FOUR EASY BRAID TRENDS TO TRY

Low braided bun

  • Start with dry hair with a little hairspray or texture added to it and section in three parts (like three pig tails)
  • Tie it with an elastic hair band
  • Braid each of the sections and secure it with another elastic hair band
  • Use your fingers to loosen up the braid and add some texture to make the braid fuller
  • Twist each braid up over the first elastic and pin with bobby pins
  • Use your fingers to make the low hairstyle looks full and a little messy
  • Finish with hairspray

Dutch Braid pony

  • Start with dry hair with a little hairspray to add texture
  • Part down the center into two sections
  • Braid each of the sections and stop when you get to the start of the pony tail
  • Use your fingers to loosen up the braid and add some texture to make the braid fuller
  • Have both braids meet and secure with a hair band
  • Take a section of the hair in the pony tail and wrap it around the hair band
  • Finish with hairspray

Double-dutch hair bun

  • Start with dry hair with a little hairspray to add texture
  • Part down the center into two sections stopping 1/4 of a way
  • Braid both sections and secure with tiny elastic bands
  • Grab all of the pony tail hair (except for the braids) and make a low bun and secure it with an elastic band
  • Use both braids to wrap around the bun and secure with bobby pins
  • Finish with hairspray

Half crown braid

  • Start with dry hair with a little hairspray to add texture
  • Part down the center into two sections stopping 1/4 of a way
  • Braid each section and secure with a tiny elastic band
  • Bring each side of the braid to meet the other and form a half-crown
  • Secure with bobby pins and finish with hairspray

Braids are so much fun and with a little practice, you can finish a hairstyle in no time at all. It’s best to start with clean hair and for that I use AVEENO PURE RENEWAL®Shampoo andConditioner.  Their sulfate-free formulas help to rebalance my hair’s optimal moisture and leaves it super shiny, healthier looking, and more full of life. It also gently renews my hair to it’s most balanced state and it’s super sensitive with my skin and scalp as well as my hair color!  The shampoo contains a naturally derived non-penetrating cleanser that provides gentle care for hair & scalp and the conditioner is lightweight and moisturizes and softens without weighing my hair down.
