FIVE ON FRIDAY!

Gosh this has been such a fun week.  If you’ve been following along, you know we’re relocating our family once more.  This time, to Texas!

  • We visited TX for the first time as a family this past week and the kids did amazing.  They watched a couple of movies on the flight, ate their weight in Biscoff cookies and only asked to go to the bathroom once! I’d call that a win!
  • We saw our new home for the first time this week (I get emotional just writing this out) This picture above means so much to me friends.  I know that at the end of the day, it’s just wood and drywall but for me, this is a mile marker for our family.  This is a tangible reminder of God’s grace on our family’s lives.  It’s a reminder of His blessings on our marriage and daily provisions for our family. Alex walked this home for the first time after I had already gone back home from our house-hunting trip and he called me right away to tell me he’d found “the one.”  He put an offer without me even seeing the house, and I completely felt at peace and trusted that he was making the best decision for our family.  There’s so much more I want to say about his home and our move, but I’ll leave that for another post.
  • We visited our new church this past week and Emory kept asking if we were going to see Cinderella’s castle.  I have to admit, I felt the same way.   The past 2.5 years we’ve attended a wonderful church that met at a school and before that, our church met at a shopping center. They are both wonderful Bible-centered churches. However, this is the first time we’ve attended a service at a church that meets in its own building.  Don’t get me wrong, I know that’s not what’s most important about a church, but it sure is special.  We found CBC through the Master’s seminary at Grace Community Church and are beyond excited and honored to join this body of believers.  The kids were welcomed in their kid classes and Harrison was loved on by the sweetest nursery workers.
  • Homeschooling thoughts. I shared on my instagram account our desire to continue to homeschool Grace through second grade and my struggle with feeling like I’m selling her and my other kids short.  You guys poured your love and prayers through that post and I am beyond grateful.  We’re touring our local elementary school next week and will continue to pray about the next few months.  Homeschooling is something I am passionate about, but if I am honest with myself, I am struggling with my current balancing act.  The bottom line is that I know God is going to direct our steps and He will be glorified regardless of the direction we decide to go and that Grace is going to thrive.

Oh guys, I hope you are having an amazing week and that your weekend is filled with family, and all of the Easter celebrations!
