OUR KIDDOS AND THEIR BEDROOM

Over the past couple of years Grace’s room has evolved from a neutral nursery to a girly toddler room and now we’re working on revamping the kid’s room(!!!) to make space for our new babe. We’ve been working on transitioning Grace into a toddler bed during the past few months to ensure that she’d be ready to pass her crib down.  The crib she has now transitions into a toddler bed, BUT we recently changed our mattress and thought our old one would have better use in the kids room.  We thought a larger mattress would work best for those late night feedings when the baby won’t stop crying and the only way to comfort him is to lay him on your chest…all while attempting to not wake dad up because he has to work early the next morning. Plus it doubles as a guest bed :0)

gender neutral nurseryI made this mobile from ornaments I pulled off my moms Christmas tree.  She got them from last year’s Target’s post Christmas sale. I saw them on her tree this year asked her if she was willing to part from them given that they would be used towards a great cause.  She loved the idea… thanks mom!  (I’ll post a tutorial soon)

Plus… she’s memorized this entire book and reads it back to me… which is pretty cute.gender neutral nurseryHere’s the “toddler” bed.  I’ve attempted to turn it into a day-bed but the mattress is huge and there’s no hiding it’s true identity.  Grace loves it and we figured that if she happens to fall off the bed, the damage won’t be so bad. The pillows on the bed have been around forever except for the black and white stripped pillow case.  Mom sewed both of those for me from an Ikea fabric that I purchased years ago.

IMG_6019I made this banner while I was 38 weeks pregnant. The whole thing took me close to two hours but I really liked the pizzazz the banner added to the room.

Have I mentioned that I’m an aspiring interior designer?? Mediocre at best but I have heart and that counts for something. Right??? Anyway… I’m not so sure how long these two will be in the same bedroom, but for now this will do.

What a sweet space for some sweet children! Congratulations on your newest little one! Boys are so fun, and big sisters make the best little mamas.
