JANUARY IN FLORIDA

IMG_8721

i have been wanting to move out of Florida ever since our plane landed here 19 years ago.  for the most part it’s hot and humid and there are absolutely no seasons… it’s just summer. all. the. time.  most of the year the sun is scorching hot and you’re having to say inside blasting the ac or you end up like a perspiring sun dried tomato (try to picture that… ha!)

then days like these happen and i’m reminded that we practically live in paradise. mind you, we don’t live like we’re vacation 24/7 but being out on the water on January 1st while my dear friends are spending their days shoveling snow and bracing themselves for blizzards sure makes the florida sun bearable.

IMG_0253^^we paddled down the new river for a few hours wondering what life would be like if we lived in one of these homes.  there are incredible water front homes…. we’re modest though… we usually end up picking out the “small ones” to live in.^^january 2013. 1IMG_8704IMG_0255^^hubba hubba!^^IMG_0257IMG_8736

^^my two favorite men!! have i mentioned that my parents live a few blocks from the water and we rarely pay for beach parking!!^^IMG_8737IMG_8740

vv that night we also decided to say goodbye to our last bit of freedom before school took over my life again. so here we are… a handsome bunch with my brother and his fiancé vvjanuary 2013. 2 IMG_0262 IMG_0265

^^i must confess we had a taste of winter this night (sort of… it was a 12 hour cold front) but it was perfect enough to pull out that fabulous leather jacket i tuck away in my closet for 364 days out of the year.^^ IMG_0270_2

^^so until May my dear friends… and freedom… i bid you farewell.^^
