LATELY | CHRISTMAS MORNING EDITION

Christmas 2017

I can’t believe Christmas is over! We’re still holding on to our tree a little longer but almost everything else is put away in the basement ready for next year.  This Christmas was a little different for us.  Our family is far and so are our friends, but being away from it all has really given us an opportunity to focus on Christ’s birth and the promise of His return.  I wanted to document a few pictures from Christmas morning.

This was also the first year that Grace knew what was going on. She had been looking forward to Christmas morning for weeks now and used her calendar to count down the BIG DAY. Opening the presents was fun. Haddon had no idea how to maneuver around the gift wrapping but once I tore through that paper he picked up on how it all works. Grace handed out the gifts and lit up whenever she found one with her name on it.

Please disregard the puffy eyes… I really do wake up like this because there’s no sleep for mamas.  Also, santa was good to me this year and got me a Kitchen-aid mixer.  I have a feeling santa was a little selfish with that gift but hey… thanks big guy!

Anyone else love the fact that Christmas fell on a Sunday this year??? I’m pretty sure pastors and their families weren’t so thrilled about it but man we were! What better way to celebrate Jesus’ birth than gathered with other believers?  We visited a new church here in Gretna and were so blessed by how inviting and welcoming everyone was.  I shared on my instagram what an amazing feeling it was to be hugged and to feel like we were loved and welcomed.

We’ve quickly realized that we are on our own when it comes to pictures, so we are getting friendly with our tripod! Obviously we still have a lot to learn so here we are…

We hope you guys had an amazing Christmas!

Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. And this will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger.” And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among those with whom he is pleased!” Luke 2:10-14
