HOME RENO PROJECT + LIFE LATELY

We have thoroughly enjoyed the leftovers of the northern blizzard, because it has sent the most amazing weather our way. Our florida winter has boldly dipped into the high 50’s and has allowed all of my deep dust gathering garments an opportunity to come out and play! (hello beautiful Alfani jacket) Other than a few runny noses we’re all into this chilly breeze. Grace keeps looking out of the window to see if there’s snow on the ground, and then proceeds to make snow angels on our white shaggy carpet… bless her heart.

To say our days are long and super busy is an understatement. There’s so much work to do each day, that if we get dinner and baths in before 8pm, Alex and I throw a dance party and electric slide the kiddos right into their beds! On a good note, most of the major house renovation projects are DONE… all except for the outdoors. Our front yard is so unkept it’s a little embarrassing. I’m reluctant to run into any of my neighbors because of the urge I have to appologize a gazillion times for our hedges and trash and unmowed lawn and screaming babies. However, our indoor space is looking a lot like a home and less like ground zero which makes me a really happy camper. It’s ok though, I have big pie baking plans come Christmas time. Watch out Betty Crocker… there’s not match for a mother of three with 11 months worth of apologizing to do.  Until then, I’ll just have to sneak out of the back door and avoid all eye contact. (See visual aid below brought to you by my offspring)

Speaking of my offspring, we have a wobbly walker in our midst!  Haddon thought last Monday was a perfect day to cut his first tooth and take his first steps. I know… I know.. what took him so long? I guess 13 months was just what he needed to work up the courage to become a carnivore and dart away from his sweet but oh-so-clingy older sister. Whatever the reason, he’ll probably be running come March and I’ll most likely have to buy my fist pair of rollerblades to try and catch him!

Grace is doing really well in school. I had a hard time getting used to the fact that I couldn’t go in her classroom and play with her, but seeing her so brave and excited about making friends helped me get through my serious firstchild FOMO.  She has also been my sus-decorator/ handy helper when it comes to revamping our new home AND has been sleeping like a champ in her new and improved trundle bed. Proud mommy feelings spewing out all over this keyboard.

Baby bump#3 still doesn’t have a name or a known sex but we’re pretty sure he/she is going to be a crossfitter or some sort of intense athlete. This little baby has been hanging on for dear life through all of the renovation, nausea, sleep depravation and brutality that I have put my body through the past few moths. I think I’ve found the secret behind not gaining an incredible amount of baby weight… buy a new house, renovate it, continue to run after two kids AND work part-time.  Hopefully my non-maternity clothes will hang out in my closet a little longer… hopefully.

That’s it for now. I’m off to make some sort of quinoa dish (because it’s the healthiest thing I have around) and have some sleepy time herbal tea because I dozed off three times while writing this post. ha!

P.S: Way to go Broncos!
