LIFE LATELY- HELLO JULY!

just a few days ago it was may…

grace was turning 2 and we were celebrating me graduating from nursing school.  somewhere in there we blinked and then july showed up in all it’s glory. and by glory, i mean scorching south florida heat and typhoon hurricane season rain storms. regardless, we’re glad july’s here and that it’s summer!

we decided to take a little break from blogging/instagraming/pinning etc. in june, to spend more time focusing on studying for my boards.  my days were spent answering hundreds of questions and my nights were spent wondering if we made a good decision about sending me to nursing school.  although i knew it wasn’t the end of the world if i didn’t pass the test the first time, the thoughts of failing the test were overwhelming at times. i mean, with no license you’re not really a nurse, you just have a big fancy piece of paper proving that you’ve trained to become one. right? i think that was my biggest fear going into this season of prepping and cramming for this test.  i needed to pass. not just so i could work and bring in a second income, but for my sanity.  failing would have meant that the past 28 months of being in school and the decision we made of not taking any breaks after having a baby in between first and second semester were all in vain.  i don’t know how i could have bared that.  thank God i didn’t have to.  He was gracious and faithful and after 265 questions and 4.5 hours of sitting in front of a computer screen answering questions where all the answers are pretty much the right one… we passed! He was merciful and carried us through and now it’s over.

needless to say, june was a high stress month for us.  regardless, we did manage to squeeze in a few breaks as family.  a mommy and daddy trip to disney, a trip to the museum, dinner out, bubbles at grandmas, pool day, ice cream at kilwins, mornings at the park and a few more outings not pictured.

so far july has been good to us and although it’s only the beginning we are very hopeful and looking forward to what the rest of the month holds for our little family.

have a wonderful july my friends… stay dry and not too warm.
