MY FIVE MINUTE FACE

I’ve had a few questions about the five minute makeup routine I often refer to on social media and I thought that this would be a great time to write a post on my go-to five minute face.  Here’s the thing, since we are a homeschooling family, we don’t often have a rush to get out of the house in the mornings. I don’t have to take my kids to school or try and make it to work on time.  We’re home most of the day unless I sneak in a Target trip, playdate or we have a church event and I could probably get by wearing yoga pants all day long and face moisturizer all day long. Some days, that’s necessary because you’re sick or you’ve been up all night.  However, because I spend ALL DAY LONG tending to my babies, it’s easy for me to neglect my physical appearance and pull out the fuzzy socks and dodge all of the mirrors.

Head to the bottom to see how TILE helps me keep track of my makeup bag

This is where my five minute face comes in.  It’s not rocket science, but it’s a (almost) daily ritual that brightens up my mood and even helps me be a better mom.

Now, one of the problems to my five minute face is not finding my makeup.  Sometimes I misplace it and those five minutes turn into thirty.  These days, I have attached my handy dandy Tile because it uses the world’s best selling bluetooth tracker to help me find the things that I can’t bare to loose and it works with an App on my phone, so I can find it anytime!

This is how you use the TILE

  1. Attach Tile to anything you don’t want to lose.  Keep track of it with the Tile app.
  2. Tile is the world’s best-selling Bluetooth tracker.
  3. Use  Tile and the Tile app to be a part of the world’s largest lost-and-found community, where friends and strangers come  together to find everything that matters.
  4. Tile and the community of Tile users helps locate two million items every day.

TILE is not just for keys and wallets… I use my TILE for my makeup bag, but you can use it ANYWHERE  even on a panda named Ernie!

Now off to my five minute face…

Tinted moisturizer (30 seconds)

As soon as I wake up, I splash some water on my face and remove my nightime face cream.  I spread a good moisturizer with at least 15 spf all over my face to add a good amount of moisture and protect my face from the sun.

Concealer (30 seconds)

I make two triangles right under my eyes and add a little concealer to my eyelids and then blend it all in with my moisturizer. Concealer brightens up my face and helps me get rid of my raccoon eyes.

Eyebrows (60 seconds)

I love using a darker color for my brows and opt for this all-in-one pencil and brush.  It cuts the time by half (rather than using an angle brush) and I don’t have to dig around looking for my eyebrow brush.  I color them in a little thicker these days.

Mascara (90 seconds)

I feel like this is where I spend the most amount of time.  I probably dedicate an entire minute and a half to making sure my eyelashes wake my face up!

Blush (30 seconds)

A little blush on the apples of my cheeks and I’m done!

Lips (60 seconds)

Cream tinted. I like a fun color, even if I’m just wearing it for myself.

That’s it fiends.  Forget the contour, the shadows, the eyelash curler and the primer because who really has time for that.  I just focus on those five steps and I am ready to take on the day!!
