oh how He loves us

IMG_0114

i’ve had this song in my head for the past few days. the lyrics have become stronger and more meaningful every time i sing them. i think of the act of loving… oh how He loves us…and then i start to compare His love to my way of loving. can there be a stronger love than the one for a child or a spouse? i look at my little lady and am so overwhelmed with love for her i couldn’t imagine anything greater or stronger. it’s a love that leaves you breathless. it’s putting yourself aside… your sleep, your time, your thoughts, your energy and giving them all up for the benefit of someone else. to a little person. to think that we could be loved much more than that. unconditionally and undeservingly loved. i’m humbled.

“How He Loves”
by David Crowder Band

He is jealous for me,
Loves like a hurricane, I am a tree,
Bending beneath the weight of His wind and mercy.
When all of a sudden,
I am unaware of these afflictions eclipsed by glory,
And I realise just how beautiful You are,
And how great Your affections are for me.

And oh, how He loves us, oh,
Oh, how He loves us,
How He loves us all

And we are His portion and He is our prize,
Drawn to redemption by the grace in His eyes,
If his grace is an ocean, we’re all sinking.
And Heaven meets earth like an unforeseen kiss,
And my heart turns violently inside of my chest,
I don’t have time to maintain these regrets,
When I think about the way…

He loves us.

Noni, I’m sorry about for your loss. I thank God for songs and writers like this one. There have been many times where a simple melody or singing verses have carried me through tough times. Sort of like what you said… God whispering to us. So glad to have linked up with you. You are precious and so is your family!
