We are seeing the last of the cold weather here in Nebraska. Winter-like temperatures have stuck around for a while and we’ve had to find different ways to wind down during these chilly days. During the warmer days, we like to go out for evening walks and chat about our days, but we’ve had to hunker down during this longer-than-usual winter.

There are a few ways, that Alex and I like to wind down during these “winter” days and today I am sharing them with you:

  1. Bring out the games and puzzles– I have very fond memories of my parents spending late nights putting puzzles together. We lived in Venezuela at the time and the chilly nights kept us all indoors. Growing up, my brothers, parents and I kept on the tradition and these days I am so happy that Alex and I love putting puzzles together. Board games are also a lot of fun. We pull out the traditional old school board games and it gives us an opportunity to chat and catch up.
  2. Movie night– We love watching movies. There’s nothing like cozying up on the couch watching a fun flick together. Sometimes we turn on the fireplace, put on cozy socks and watch reruns, rom-coms and if I’m super lucky, we’ll squeeze in a musical.

  3. Bubble bath– There are a few things more relaxing than soaking in a bubble bath after a long day. Sometimes, even with the heater on, there’s no escaping the cold. It’s bone-chilling and soaking in a hot tub full of bubbles is the only remedy.
  4. A good workout– We love taking our workouts outdoors. However, these chilly days are all about working out indoors. Indoor workouts are efficient, time-saving and help us use up the last bit of energy before calling it a night. Alex has been working on his cross- fit style workouts, and I’ve been putting my treadmill to good use. We’ve always worked out together and like to find different ways to continue our active lifestyle regardless of the season we’re in.
  5. Drinks and conversation– Somedays, when a bubble bath just won’t due, I like to pick up Alex’s favorite beer, sit on the couch and spend our time chatting and venting. We love it. These days, Alex has been drinking Michelob ULTRA. It’s “The Superior Light Beer” with only 95 calories, 2.6 carbs and it’s a premium, great tasting beer that won’t fill you up. It also has 50 calories less than Corona Extra and 80% fewer carbs. He loves it and I think it’s the best choice (compared to competitive brands) for his active lifestyle.

Also, Michelob ULTRA just launched a 7 oz. glass bottle which I can’t wait to pick up for Alex!

Here’s to the last of the chilly days and to spending time together!
