STEADY MOTHERHOOD | SAM & CORINA II

Growing up in a house full of boys, I always wondered what it would be like to have sisters. I daydreamed about us chatting for hours, arguing over petty things and celebrating each other’s victories.  It was a relationship I craved for years.

This mother’s day, I celebrate the two women in my life who I get to call sister. Sam and Corina.

Earlier this week Sam was kind enough to answer a few questions for me and today I have the privilege of sharing Corina’s answers.

These two ladies mean the world to me and I am forever grateful to have them in my life.

Happy Mother’s day!

How long have you been a stay at home mom and to how many kids?

14 going on 15 months and to one joyful little girl, my Charlee Joy.

If you could describe your parenting style in one word, what would it be?

Nurturing

If you could offer some advice to a brand new stay at home mom, what would it be?

Take one day at a time, have grace on yourself, and know you are never alone. Some days will be harder than others but you are loved and you are doing great! Reach out to loved ones, phone a friend on those hard days. It’s crazy how just seeing their face or hearing their voice could lift your spirits. FaceTime often has been a breath of fresh air for me, especially on my not so wonderful days.

What’s your one tip for getting your day started on the right foot?

Spend some alone time with Jesus first thing with your favorite beverage in hand (mine is coffee, black).

Do you have any book/movies/pod-cast/IG feeds recommendations to help us on our journey?

Books: The Magic of Motherhood: The Good Stuff, the Hard Stuff, and Everything In Between by Ashlee Gadd

Own Your Life by Sally Clarkson

Present Over Perfect by Shauna Niequist

Podcast: Revive Our Hearts by Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth

If you had one whole day all to yourself what would it look like?

Probably something along the lines of devotional first thing, get in a workout (uninterrupted), then head to one of my favorite breakfast joints with a book to keep me company. After probably eating wayyy too much, I’d go get pampered and then spend the rest of the day with my best friend, who just so happens to be my husband, and have ourselves a date night!

What do you enjoy most about being a stay at home mom?

That I am able to be home with my daughter every single day, raising her, teaching her, and mostly spending all of her waking hours loving on her. It’s a blessing that I try my very best to not take for granted and praise God daily for allowing us this opportunity. There’s truly no other place I’d rather be.
