FIRST WEEK OF SCHOOL + FUN SNACKS

This post is sponsored by SUPERPRETZEL and SHE Media.

School started this week and we’re already so excited about all of the things we’ve learned. Grace is really loving her new math curriculum and Haddon is just thrilled he’s in pre-k. I am celebrating the fact that we’ve made it through an entire week of homeschool and I haven’t raised my voice or lost my inner cool. We’re all doing great and are ready to tackle another week. Something I’m really trying to focus on this year is to be intentional about our non-school times. I know, I know, if you’re homeschooling, you’re always looking to squeeze in your lesson during the day, but I am trying to just focus on play when we’re “off of school.”

We’ve planned out our afterschool dates for the week ahead and they all include walking around the lake. I always like to have snacks handy for our walk and today I brought SUPERPRETZEL Original Soft Pretzels. These are so good, and they remind me of my childhood. My mom used to serve SUPERPRETZEL up for us after school and we’d enjoy them while sitting down with my mom to chat about the school day.

SUPERPRETZELS are so easy to prepare, they come with their own salt packets and they can be microwaved or heated in the oven. I also love how versatile they are making them with varieties such as Softstix filled with Cheddar Cheese and Soft Pretzel Bites. They are such a fun snack to bring to the lake, park or to just have at home. I also serve these as appetizers when I have guests over because they’re ready in seconds and are so tasty. They are wholesome, convenient and there’s never really a bad time for these super delicious soft pretzels. You can learn more about America’s #1 Soft Pretzel brand here.

Grace is so excited about her new teacher. She really likes her, and I love the fact that she’s super engaged and learning sentence structures. Haddon loves telling everyone that he’s in pre-k and I’m eating up every second with him. I love teaching him letters and sounds and science. He loves to find out how things work, and I love seeing his eyes light up when he finally “gets” something. I do have to admit that my eyes light up watching him learn and I really think being his teacher is the greatest privilege ever!

I know there’s still a lot of school ahead of us, but I am optimistic and really looking forward to this school year.  I am also looking forward to learning how to balance the educational part of our day and the play time. One day, I hope to figure it out. Until then, I’ll continue to bring on great snacks like SUPERPRETZEL and enjoy every second I get to hang out with my kiddos!
