HOLDING ON TO SUMMER

Summer is by far my favorite season.

Maybe it’s the Florida girl in me but the sunshine on my face and a cold drink in my hand is everything to me.  I love it. All of it.

A couple of weeks ago we hit our local water park. We ended up getting there a little later than we wanted but we had plenty of time to enjoy all of the fun.  The kids were a little hesitant at first, but once they slid down the water slide a few times, they were pros.

Growing up, my parents used to take us to a huge water park in FL. We would spend the entire day in the wave pool, lazy river and on the thrilling slides. I have such great memories of my brothers and I rushing from one slide to the next trying to beat the crowd. We’d end the day so tired and full of so many new family memories.

This was the first time we visited a water park with the kids.  They’re all finally old enough to walk on their own and strong enough to hold their own ground. Haddon wanted me to hold his hand the first few times down the little slide, which made my mama heart so happy, but he quickly realized that he didn’t need me and went off on his own.

These are all pictures that I took with my phone. I brought the big camera but I didn’t want to risk a major camera in the pool debacle.  Thank God for waterproof phone cases!

Anyway friends,  I am holding on to every second and basking in all of the sunshine because I know it won’t last.  Target and Pinterest are telling me that Fall is almost here so here we are… holding on to the last few days of sunshine!

Alex took the first few turns with the kiddos.  He’s such a fun dad and makes every experience that much sweeter.

This little guy must have gone down that slide 65 times! His party trick was landing on his feet after the big slide. He looked over to see if we were impressed and we’d sit and clap. He was so proud.

Grace is such a cool girl.  She made a few friends and asked if she could hang out with them instead of us.  Go figure!

These two, however, were inseparable.  They have such a sweet relationship and I get a front-row seat at the whole thing.

Long live summer friends.  Long live popsicles on the porch, water toys, and kiddy pools!
