  • 1 tablespoon oil plus extra for cooking
  • 2 1/2 cups all purpose flour plus extra for dusting
  • 1/2 teaspoons salt

Garlic Butter Ingredients:

  • 4 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh chopped parsley

Instructions:

For Naan Bread:

  1. Combine water, sugar, and yeast in a mixing bowl and let it sit for 5-10 minutes until it begins to bubble on top.
  2. Add in yogurt, oil, flour, and salt. Mix until the dough comes together with your hands.
  3. Turn out the dough on a floured counter and knead the dough until smooth, about 8 to 10 minutes. If the dough is too sticky, you may add a tiny bit more flour.
  4. Transfer the dough to a greased bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and let it rest at room temperature for an hour until it doubles in size.
  5. When ready to cook, turn out the dough on the counter and divide it into 8 equal pieces. Roll into balls and use a rolling pin to shape each piece into a large oval
  6. Heat a large cast iron skillet or frying pan over medium-high heat. Grease the skillet with 1/2 teaspoon of oil.
  7. Place one piece of naan on the oiled skillet and cook until bubbles form on top (1-2 minutes).
  8. Flip and cook for another 1-2 minutes until large golden spots appear on the bottom.

For Garlic Butter:

  1. Combine melted butter, minced garlic, and chopped parsley in a bowl.
  2. Brush each naan with the irresistible garlic butter mixture.
