ANNUAL BIRTHDAY PARTY 2019 with love Tere birthday party
We’re not the parents that throw birthday parties for their kiddos. I think Grace had a second birthday party and it was a tiny little gathering at grandma’s house where we had a small cake and sang happy birthday. It was sweet. But that was a one and done. We are huge believers in experiences and doing everything we can to celebrate the birthday boy/girl on their birthday making sure that they feel extra special that day. Don’t get me wrong, we LOVE birthdays, we just don’t really care for birthday parties.
This year, we knew we were going to be traveling to Florida for Alex’s brother’s wedding and it just seemed like the right opportunity to start a new tradition. We priced it out, invited all of our cousins and went for it. The ULTIMATE GONZALEZ BIRTHDAY EXTRAVAGANZA!
I think Alex and I always knew that this was something we wanted to do for the kids. Since we have four now and most of them are very aware of what birthdays are, it just seemed like the right way to celebrate. The kids were on board and the grandparents lent their home. We had such a fun time. We found a great company that dropped off an over-the-top bounce house and just left it in their back yard for four hours.
I will keep all of our shenanigans to myself, but I will say that the little kids weren’t the only ones jumping and having an amazing time.
Here are a few pictures of our celebration:
After we jumped and got good and sweaty, we had cake! No party is complete without it and the massive vanilla sheet cake from Costco did the trick!
This little guy had such a fun time. I loved seeing him love on grandma and on anyone who stretched out their arms towards him.
This was such a fun picture to take and to pose for (I was standing on a patio chair) but I love it because most of our family was able to squeeze in one shot.
These two had such a fun time pretending to fight each other. Alex was the villain (of course) and Emory fought him to the death!
Grandma had a turn and I will leave that there.
My goodness, I can’t tell you how much I love this picture. First off, Charlee’s socks and her bows are super cute. Secondly, goodness Emory’s smile is everything and so are her curls!
