Last week, on my Instagram account, I shared my current exercise routine. I am currently 35 weeks pregnant and have been taking spinning classes throughout my entire pregnancy. These days, I’ve had to change my workout a little since I am getting too big to maneuver around a spinning bike. If you’ve been following along for any amount of time, you know how much I enjoy being active and working out regularly. These days, I’ve had to tweak my fitness routine to fit our hectic school/ work schedule as well as my current stage of pregnancy. Today I am teaming up with V8 +HYDRATE™ to share with you four tips for fitting in a workout.

V8 +HYDRATE™ helps me stay motivated throughout my day to keep up with my hydration goals.  Not only do they taste amazing and are super refreshing, but they are perfect to have on hand regardless of where I’m off to.  Adding V8 +HYDRATE™ to my daily routine is a great way to keep up with my health goals!

FOUR TIPS FOR FITTING IN A WORKOUT

Dress accordingly – If I am comfortable and already wearing workout clothes, it’s easier for me to transition in and out of working out. In the mornings, I throw on a pair of maternity leggings or yoga pants, a supportive sports bra, and a comfortable top. I leave my sneakers by the door just in case I am able to head out for a quick walk. If I end up doing a quick home workout, I’m prepared and ready to go!

Schedule smart – Our schedules vary depending on the day. Somedays I am super busy with work/ homeschooling while other days have a bit more flexibility. I like to take a look at our schedule the night before and carve out the time slot for my work out. Most of the time, I am able to exercise in the afternoons because the mornings are tied up with errands and school. If I know that we have a prior engagement that evening, then I plan my workout for that morning.

Make it a priority – I think this is the most important tip when it comes to fitting in a workout. Life happens and how I exercise changes depending on the season of life I am currently in. I think what’s important is that we remind ourselves of the WHY behind what we’re doing. I exercise because it makes me feel alive. I exercise because it gives me mental clarity, it allows me to play with my babies and gives me a way to relieve my stress. On the days that I don’t feel like working out, I remind myself that I always feel better once it’s over and then I go for it!

Keep it simple – Fitting in a workout doesn’t have to be complicated. Because of my pregnancy, I have switched over to swimming twice a week and I work out at home twice a week. I know once I am able to, I will have a chance to get back into the gym and lift some weights, but for now, a simple schedule is best. I wanted to share with you a simple home workout that I fit-in during this season. There’s no equipment necessary, I just work around my living room furniture.

Walking Lunges x 30 – I like to start with these because they get my heart rate up

Squats x15  – I like to do this against a wall to help me with balance and I squat as far down as I can. I also grab 3lb weights on each hand.
