This past week we officially welcomed summer but it feels like it’s been here forever! We all have our tan lines back and permanently smell like sunblock. We thought about making a huge summer bucket list, but between the boxes in the garage and all of the housework, we resolved to take it one day at a time.
The kids and I have established a great pool rhythm. There’s a really cool splash pad and pool in our neighborhood and we’ve taken up residence. The big kids slide down this slide 534 times while I sit in the water with Harrison and watch Emory pretend to swim. The splash pad has lifeguards and the kids have puddle jumpers so I’m pretty much in parenting heaven.
I’ve been looking at all of the pictures on my phone and I thought I’d do a summer photo recap on here because I’m running out of phone space and these pictures are just too good not to document.
Long live summer!
I can’t get over this smile and belly. He’s the sweetest little boy and cries when I try to get him out of the water. The kids love seeing him in a swimsuit. They think it’s the cutest thing and I completely agree.
I love this picture of us. Harrison was with his grandma and the kids, Alex and I had a minute to splash around in the pool. I documented it all here. When I look back on this summer, that video is going to remind me of how amazing this season has been for us.
Emory is still not so sure about the tall slide. She’s gone up the steps 3x, but then turns around and makes her way right back down to the ground.
I’m not sure how I’ve managed to live life without Shake Shack. It’s my absolute favorite burger and I’m not looking back.
A few weeks ago, we stumbled upon Burger’s Lake in Fort Worth and had an amazing time going down the slides and jumping off all of the diving boards.
Summer just started and we’re already off to a great start. I can’t wait to see what’s ahead!
