We will find any and every excuse to celebrate around here. Birthdays are a given, but we always find ways of celebrating smaller, everyday, accomplishments. Today, I’m teaming up with SOUR PATCH KIDS and Dollar General to share one of the many ways we embrace everyday celebrations. Like when Emory jumped in the pool for the first time, when Haddon learned how to spell his name, or when Grace learned to tie her shoes. To someone else, these may be small accomplishments, but to us, they’re all worth celebrating.

Well, I’m not sure when it happened, but Grace is all grown up. And all I can think about is that I probably have 10 birthdays, 10 Christmases and 10 summers left with her. I can’t believe she’s such a big girl, and everything in me wants to hit the breaks and pause time. She’s so cool, smart, funny and witty. She makes up jokes that crack us up for hours and is always up for a fun time in the kitchen.
Last week, we baked a fun cake and cupcakes to celebrate the last day of school, and decorated it with our favorite candy. We love SOUR PATCH KIDS, which you can find at Dollar General. Grace is a fan of the red ones, so we made it a point to only have red SOUR PATCH KIDS on the cake. Every other color was up for grabs for her brother and sister!
The cake was her idea actually, and she loved being able to pick her favorite color from the SOUR PATCH KIDS Shock the Vote, where you can cast your vote for your favorite KID. My vote will always be orange, but this was obviously not about me.
I grabbed all of my ingredients and my SOUR PATCH KIDS at Dollar General. It was really convenient to find not only our essentials, but also all of the ingredients I needed to pull this celebration off. It’s funny, because I remember going into Dollar General with my mom when I was little and picking up my favorite candy. I guess some things in life just stay the same.
The SOUR PATCH KIDS are a fun, soft and chewy candy that first are sour, then they’re sweet. Which sometimes, that perfectly describes life with little ones! This was a fun way to celebrate our girl. She’s amazing, and I can’t believe I get a front row seat!
Here’s to everyday celebrations!
