LIFE LATELY

1// cramming in some alone time with this cutie who wants to read all the books in the store at least 10 times

2// working on a family costume idea for my brother’s costume party. this one happened to be at the halloween isle at target. i took all but 30 seconds to take this picture… you know a girl has a reputation to keep.

3// she’s doing so much better in the pool these days. it scares me a bit

4// we had a caramel apple making party and everyone seemed to love them! here’s the recipe if you’re into that

5// for the first time EVER we put our grownup pants on and bought a mattress.  our first mattress! and we’re in love.  when we got married, we inherited ale’s parents mattress (which we are very grateful for) but it lived a good life and it was time to let it go.  it now lives in gracie’s room as a guest/cuddle bed. we also bought pillows and this was ale’s way of trying them out at the store.

7// grace has a love/hate relationship with this doggie. most of the times she loves him… until he takes her stuffed animals and chews them up. then she’s not too fond of him.

8// we cook together now.  it’s more work for me but she loves helping and i’m excited about cultivating that.

9// i fear the pool. because when i was younger i was pushed in by a “playful” little girl. i’m hoping grace never has a similar experience because i’d never want that smile to disappear. i can watch them for hours!

10// we all did some blue apron cooking this week and shared our thoughts here

11// sometimes she wants to go down the slide on my lap.  for those few minutes i forget about how uncomfortable it is to be 23 weeks pregnant and have a toddler sitting on you while going down a slide for the 8th time. i know soon she’ll want to go down all of the slides by herself so i’ll do it!

13// sometimes while gracie naps i sneak in some hibiscus lemonade with a lime garnish and pretend i’ve just ordered something super fancy.  when in reality i’m in my yoga pants, with my hair in a bun and my nerd glasses on cramming to get EVERYTHING done before she wakes up.

14// they’re still visible but not for long…i think this might be the last time i paint my own toesies… my pregnancy treat from now on will be having someone else add some color to my little piggies. trying to reach down there is no joke.  also… hello belly button.  nice of you to pop out and join us (said no pregnant woman ever!)

16// we think we take her to the playground so she’ll use up the last bit of energy before bedtime, when in fact she takes US to the playground so we can use up the last bit of OUR energy running after her.  joke’s on us!
