i love coffee dates. the kind where we sit in front of each other, chat for hours and sip coffee out of fancy mugs filled to the brim with foam and caramel that sticks to your lips. the kind of date where we laugh, cry, reminisce, and dream together and we hold on to every second not wanting time to pass because we’re having such a great time.
i suppose if we were on a coffee date i would tell you that it’s been a while since i had a really good cup of coffee. most times i’m usually brewing a fast cup before i run out of the house and balance it in my hands while carrying a toddler and school books.
i would tell you that i was up till 2am last night with a little girl who is hitting her “night terror” stage and that ale had a long day of work that didn’t end until about 10pm… now he’s sound asleep
i would tell you that there are a few things to be excited about over here. like ale’s promotion (hurray!) and me being two weeks away form a school break (ahhh!)
i would tell you that i have finals to study for and every inch of me wants to “wing it” and let the chips fall where they may.
i would tell you that i’m overwhelmed by what God has been teaching me these past few weeks and that spending quiet time away from distractions has had a tremendous impact on my attitude, outlook, patience and my grace towards others.
i would tell you that our little lady has learned so many new words this week like mariposa (butterfly) and brisa (wind) and that she now responds to mickey when he invites us to his clubhouse. she’ll be starting college soon
i would tell you that there’s a heaviness in my heart when i see my parents play with their grandkids knowing that they’ll have to drive them back up home soon (emma and liam spent a week down here with us)
i would tell you that i was thinking about blogging “professionally” in the hopes to make this a source of income… dreaming over here… i know
i would tell you that i have not made dinner for my husband in over two weeks and he’s so gracious and forgiving. he doesn’t demand much from me. just to love him and once in a while let him take me out… lucky gal i know
i would tell you that i have been listening to christmas music non stop for the past week because it cheers me up a whole lot.
i would ask you how you’re doing and would be sure to tell you that this was exactly what i needed tonight while acting as a human recliner for my 14 month old who won’t sleep.
i would thank you for this time and wouldn’t leave without scheduling our next date. soon i hope.
until then…
Love this!
I feel like we just had a virtual coffee date. I enjoyed this post and feel like I got to know you just a bit better. I love those kind of moments where you just really kind of connect with someone and before you know it, three hours has gone by and there’s still so much more conversation to be had. This was beautifully written and I liked seeing a glimpse of your heart.
I love all these virtual coffee dates bloggers have been doing lately. So sweet. And I love all the details of life you chose to share. What are you studying in school? And blogging? I think you can do it girl! Just from reading how you write in a few posts and seeing your excitement. It’s possible, I think. I {I have the same “little” dream so I like to think that we can do it} ๐
