MY HAPPY: CORINA

A few months ago, I read the book One Thousand Gifts* by Ann Voskamp. Ann’s words encouraged me to look for beauty and blessings hidden in the ordinary… something that does not come easy to me. Mainly because I’m functioning on a few hours of sleep at a time and I’m usually pushing to fit a million tasks in a limited amount of time.  However, I have noticed that when I take a step back and thank God for the loads of laundry and for floors that need cleaning, I am thanking Him for a home filled with love and for little feet that carry dirt in their shoes after hours of laughter at the park.  Although I have not mastered it, having a heart of thanksgiving allows me to bring my attention back to the core of what’s most important.  It allows me to give glory to God for my life, for those in it, and to thank Him for His Grace.

In the efforts of filling our thanksgiving tank, last week I added a new category to the blog called “MY HAPPY.”  I’m looking at it as an opportunity to highlight the ordinary things that are not necessarily glamorous but remind us of His Grace and point our hearts back to Him.

This week, I asked my sister in law, Corina to share a few things that make her happy and this is what she sent over:

I’ve been meaning to read her book. It’s on a long list of books! Spending nights watching Friends with Jordan…it’s silly but I love laughing together.
