There is an energy that comes with award season. Everyone dresses up, there’s flair and glitter and for one night, we all live vicariously through the movie stars on the screen. Tonight, we are hosting a Star studded Party in celebration of award season and I am sharing with you my go-to planning tips to throw the best star studded party.
Decorations – When decorating for a glitzy event, the key is to start off with a backdrop and layer on the details. I like to start with a black table cloth and then layer the colors on top. Having a dark base or background, allows all of the glittery details and decorations to really pop. Also the black background sets the tone for a sophisticated ambiance. The decorations should be subtle, with a less is more mentality. A dash of glitter here, a little sparkle there… and you have yourself a party. Hanging a black backdrop also adds a little more drama to your table setting and it makes for a fun backdrop to your pictures.
Signature cocktail – A party is not complete without a signature cocktail. Yesterday we stopped by my local Wendy’s and picked up their signature drink All-Natural Lemonade which is sweetened with cane sugar, and tastes as real as it gets. It was so good, that I thought about making it into a cocktail. I paired mine with Bacardi Raspberry for an amazing star studded cocktail. Bacardi is light, has vanilla and apricot taste profile and it’s extremely mixable.
It’s so fun to play with garnish when it comes to mixing your drinks. I like to rim my glass with gold sugar crystal and drop a few raspberries in the drink to emphasize the raspberries from the rum. So fun!
Raspberry Lemon Fizz
Ingredients
1 oz Bacardi Raspberry Rum
3 oz Wendy’s All-Natural Lemonade
Splash of club soda
Instructions
Combine rum and lemonade in a mixer filled with ice. Shake vigorously and pour into a sugared rimmed glass. Top with a splash of club soda and garnish with 3-4 raspberries.
The All Natural Lemonade signature drink is only available at Wendy’s and it’s perfect as a mixer for this party.
Food – Keep the food fun and casual. Charcuterie is always a good idea and having something fun like popcorn and candy brings out the movie theme. If you serve your favorite movie candy in fancy martini glasses, you’ll add that fancy star studded flair to your table-scape. It’s also fun to see what movie snacks your guest gravitate towards!
Attire – Cocktail dresses are fun and add a little more pizazz to the night. It’s also fun to wear heels and a little makeup when you’re watching stars go down the red carpet. Add a fun pop of color on your lips and you are good to go!
