THE BIG GAME – AT HOME!

THE BIG GAME - AT HOME!

We have spent all year cheering for our favorite teams and now it’s time to get ready for the big game!. This year, we are hosting a small party and are looking forward to the opportunity to hang out with friends in a fun and laid-back atmosphere.  The big game is as much about the gathering as it is about the game, here are some tips and ideas for enjoying the game in the comfort of your own home.

  • Send out invites – having an official invitation via text or email, gets everyone excited about the event and it helps the host have a good headcount of the attendees – even if it’s a small group. This will help when you are planning the food, beverages, and seating arrangements for the night
  • Plan ahead for the snacks  –  One of my favorite things to create for parties is a charcuterie board filled with delicious ingredients! I like to make a one-stop shopping trip at Walmart and get everything I need for a beautiful and delicious charcuterie board!

I always start with Sabra Hummus and Sabra Mexican Street Corn Guacamole! This is my favorite hummus brand, it’s such good quality, flavor, and texture and it’s always a staple at our home. It’s also versatile and great for dipping and spreading on our favorite sandwiches. It is a creamy plant-based food that we all feel good about eating and with so many delicious flavors, there’s something for everyone!

We call this charcuterie board, our Ultimate Game Day Charcuterie Board. It has flavors everyone loves! You can pick up our favorite Sabra Hummus & Mexican Street Corn Guacamole products in-store or online at Walmart here! (add link here)
For my charcuterie board, I added sweet peppers, salami, dried apricots, almonds, sharp white cheddar, some pickle spears, crackers, and fresh herbs to decorate the plate. Our favorite part about using Sabra brand hummus and guacamole is that we can always count on its delicious flavor to help us be in our best moods while cheering on our favorite sports team!

  • Pace out the snacks – One of the mistakes I make during laid-back parties is that I serve all for all of the food at once. By pacing out the food, I am sure to have enough for everyone and keep our guests from entering into a food coma before the halftime show. During the pregame, I like to offer chips and dip. During the tailgating portion of the day, I bring out my amazing charcuterie board packed with all of our favorite snacks.
  • Set up a cooler for drinks – I set up a few coolers with ice and drinks that vary from water to soda to fruit juice. I let my guests know that they are welcome to it. This keeps me from having to refill drinks and helps create a more relaxed environment.

Regardless of the team, you’re rooting for, the big game is all about having a great time and joining in the comradery. So here’s to amazing snacks and to great quality and prices from Walmart!
