Last year on Easter, Ale Grace and I were the Three Musketeers all dolled up and dapper at Church. We had a beautiful time as a family, sat through a wonderful sermon about Jesus’ resurrection and had a delicious meal at grandmas house. This year, we were 15 minutes late to church, spent the entire service in a nursing room with my two kiddos (one who watched Mickey on my phone the whole time) and didn’t see papa until it was all over. Also, instead of a fancy feast, we ended up at Panera for lunch for sandwiches. Fancy I know.
My favorite part of this year’s Easter celebration was a project that my sister-in-law Sam put together for the girls. It’s called “The Real Easter Bunny.” It was the perfect way of blending the real reason for Easter and that stinking bunny we just can’t get away from. The girls colored in the picture of the bunny and Sam explained that the bunnies are:
- white as snow because Jesus takes all their sins away Isaiah 1:18
- they have big ears that are quick to listen James 1:19
- they have big eyes to look carefully and choose what is good 1Thessalonians 5:21
- they are gentle kind hearted and forgiving Ephesians 4:32
- they are quiet in prayer, but hop with thanksgiving and rejoicing 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
- they have big feet to tell others about Jesus Matthews 28:19- 20
- they eat what is healthy by filling up on God’s word every day Psalm 119:11
- they have no voice for complaining or arguing Philippians 2:13
We made it to grandmas house for a princess themed Easter egg hunt with some of the cousins. Cinderella, Bell and Aurora made an appearance!
We ended the day singing songs and spending some time thanking God for what He did on the cross for us. For paying for our salvation.
We hope everyone had a wonderful Easter!
