we bought a house!

not just any house, we purchased my grandparents* home!! i’ve shared with ale how poetic i think the whole thing is. i love this house. i always have. my brothers and i enjoyed spending time here when we were younger.  we swam in their pool, showered in their bathroom, napped on their couch and shared many meals (too many to count). and now, i get to recall those wonderful memories, while making new memories of my own.

back in october, ale and I were ready to close on a move-in-ready townhouse when my grandmother offered to sell us her home.  we couldn’t pass up the opportunity and we dove right in. we purchased the house (in november of last year), moved my grandmother to her new home (in december) and have been renovating it piece by piece since then.  i wanted to document some of the updates we’ve made on the house and hopefully share some inspiring before and after pictures. so far, we have a lot of before/during photos that i’ll be sharing… not so inspirational, but proof of hard work.

i feel like i must add a disclaimer. working on a fixer-upper is not for the faint of heart. i honestly don’t even think it’s for me (mrs. clean-freak) but i’ve made my bed and now there’s no going back.  so.. please pray for us as we manage to live in this home (with our one year old and three year old) while tackling all sorts of projects that leave all sorts of messes!

p.s: any recommendations would be highly appreciated (as this is our first reno).  you can email us, comment below or follow along our instagram where we’ll have more progress pics and are able to communicate faster.
