fourth of July is usually a big holiday for ale and i because it always reminds us of our family gatherings and spending long summer days together when we were 13. our families would always get together to eat and end the night with fireworks. the holiday became even more meaningful for us when ale proposed four years ago (geesh where does time go?) and of course i said yes!!
we’ve had to make some changes on how we spend the fourth. last year grace was 3 months old and we watched the macy’s 4th of july celebration (which has now become a new tradition) and this year papa had to work late. so grace and i did what we do best. cuddle and have dance parties… all day long!
ale made it home just in time to catch a bit of our city’s celebration festivities. here are some pictures.
^^ we loved apple cider anything… they remind us of fall! obviously i’ll do anything that gets me closer to christmas and stopping by these fresh apple cider doughnut stand did the trick. i think they’re from this company but i’m not 100% sure. we definitely have to check them out again very soon. they were incredible!^^

^^ remember that feeling? the one of being propped up on a loved ones shoulders? no fear and complete joy. although it scares me seeing her up there so care free it reminds me of what this holiday is all about.
