This time of year brings back so many memories….today i spent time thinking of how my mom and I would sit at the dining room table with a warm pot of arabic chai, mailing out Christmas cards to our family and friends. Mom would bring down a beautiful gold vintage box from our attic full of handmade Christmas cards, and while sipping our chai, we’d work our way through a master list. Mom always made sure that all of the cards were personalized and that everyone in our home signed their name. It took us hours to get through the entire list, but the time spent with my mom was priceless.
This is the first year that Ale and I are sending out Christmas cards as a family. It’s a really sweet moment for me because I’ll have a chance to reminisce about those wonderful times, and hopefully pass on this tradition to Grace.
I don’t have a vintage box of handmade cards, but our friends at Tiny Prints made it fun and easy for us to pick out a perfect family Christmas card. We selected a beautiful design from their winter botanical selection with a festive red envelope and matching labels. I just about had a party when they showed up in the mail!
My favorite part of the whole process was capturing our sweet family of four and personalizing the christmas cards. Pretty soon, I’ll have my master list finalized and will be sitting down with my pot of chai and my little girl ready to pass down a family tradition.
These look great! I love Christmas and traditions and Christmas traditions… your family is beautiful.
