This Midwest fall weather has been so lovely. The trees are all starting to lose their leaves and are all dancing in the wind as they take their final bow for the year. It’s so beautiful, I find myself driving super slow trying my best to take it all in.
We’re making every attempt to get outside to enjoy the colors and the weather before we have to pull out all of the extra bunting for winter. Last week, we shared a few snippets of our first family walk on Instagram and today I’m sharing some pictures of our first visit to a local park with Harrison.
I have gotten a few questions about how I’m feeling this time around during my postpartum stage. My honest answer that this is by far the fastest I’ve recovered. Pregnancy and the postpartum stage is different for everyone and each pregnancy has varied drastically for me. However, there are a few things that have helped me feel better faster during this postpartum stage.
Exercising while pregnant – I have shared before how much I enjoyed exercising throughout my pregnancies. It’s the one thing that helps me feel most like myself when my body usually has a mind of its own. Finding time to move while pregnant, was something that I prioritized and I feel like it’s paying off now. Towards the end of my pregnancy, I focused on yoga and moving around at home and as soon as I am cleared, my hope is to work on my core strength.
Help – Because we are so far away from family, we knew that we were going to need help with the older kids. For that reason, we flew my mom up and she has taken on the majority of the housework. She has also taken on the older kids in the morning which has allowed me to spend a little extra time with Harrison and squeeze in as much sleep as possible. I’m so grateful for her, and all the love that she has shared with us.
Prenatal care – Lastly, I had great prenatal care. I had an amazing doctor and have been very diligent with my prenatal vitamins, most of which are CATALO brand. I particularly like taking their CATALO Prenatal Vegetarian DHA Formula and their CATALO Vegetarian Calcium Formula.
The CATALO Vegetarian DHA Formula is made from non-GMO microalgae by patented technology to provide a plant source of life’s DHA™. It’s free of ocean-borne pollutants, it comes in drops for easier consumption and they don’t have a fishy taste to them.
The CATALO Vegetarian Calcium Formula contains Aquamin™, a sea algae rich in calcium, magnesium and a highly bioavailable mineral complex for easy absorption. It’s enriched with vitamin C from Acerola Cherry extract to enhance iron absorption, it supports bone health and immunity and it’s 100% vegetarian!
Unrelated to my own health, I also like their CATALO Children’s Algae DHA + Omega-3 Vegetarian Gummies (for the kids of course.) They are also made with life’sDHA™, a vegetarian algae DHA and chia seeds to increase essential fatty acids intake. They contain Omega 3, 6, 9 and DHA to support learning and healthy brain visual development. My kids love that they have a delicious lemon-orange flavor and are chewable gummies.
Here’s to more beautiful fall days spent outdoors!
