Ingredients
- 3 cups watermelon, cut into small cubes
- 1 cup strawberries, hulled and sliced
- 1 cup blackberries
- 1 grapefruit, segmented and chopped
- 2–3 tablespoons honey
- Juice of 1 lemon
- 1 teaspoon lemon zest
- 4–5 fresh basil leaves, thinly sliced (plus more for garnish)
- Vanilla ice cream, for serving
Instructions
- In a large bowl, gently combine the watermelon, strawberries, blackberries, and grapefruit.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, lemon juice, and lemon zest until well combined.
- Pour the honey-lemon mixture over the fruit and gently toss to coat.
- Fold in the sliced basil and let the fruit sit for 10–15 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
- Scoop vanilla ice cream into serving bowls or glasses.
- Spoon the fruit mixture generously over the ice cream, making sure to drizzle some of the naturally sweet juices over the top.
