There’s something about summer that makes me want to slow down.
Long dinners on the patio. Time in the garden. Friends lingering around the table just a little longer.
And every summer needs a signature drink.
This Strawberry Blackberry Basil Sparkling Refresher is ours.
Made with fresh berries, basil, lemon, honey, and sparkling water, it’s bright, refreshing, naturally sweetened, and feels just a little elevated—without requiring anything complicated.
The best part? Everything comes together in a NutriBullet in less than five minutes.

Ingredients (Serves 2)
- 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled
- ½ cup fresh blackberries
- Juice of ½ lemon
- 4–5 fresh basil leaves
- 1–2 tablespoons honey
- ½ cup cold water
- 2 cups ice
- 2 cups chilled sparkling water
Optional garnish:
- Fresh strawberries
- Lemon slices
- Basil sprigs

Instructions
- Add the strawberries, blackberries, lemon juice, basil, honey, and cold water to a NutriBullet.
- Blend until completely smooth.
- If you prefer a smoother drink, strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve to remove the seeds. (I usually leave them in for extra fiber.)
- Fill two glasses with ice.
- Pour the berry mixture about halfway into each glass.
- Top with chilled sparkling water and gently stir.
- Garnish with fresh basil, lemon slices, and a few berries.
Serve immediately.

Why I Love This Drink
It’s naturally sweet.
Beautiful enough for guests.
Refreshing after working outside.

It’s one of those recipes that feels like summer in a glass.

My Favorite Homemaking Tip
I almost always keep frozen berries on hand during the summer.
If I don’t have fresh berries, I simply swap in frozen ones and let them thaw for about 10 minutes before blending.
It makes pulling together something beautiful for family or unexpected guests incredibly easy.
Because I’ve learned that the best kind of hospitality usually starts with using what you already have.
Sometimes all it takes is a handful of berries, a squeeze of lemon, and a little intention to make an ordinary afternoon feel special.
