HOW I SET GOALS IN 2021 | FOUR TIPS ON GOAL SETTING

For most of us, a new year is a hopeful and very exciting time. It’s a fresh start, and an opportunity to clear the slate. I am looking forward to a new year and can’t wait to see all that this new year has in store.

As we wrap up a season, I like to take inventory of the previous year. I like to see what worked, what didn’t and take some time to set my intentions and make a few goals for the season to come. Today I am teaming up with Two Good® Greek Lowfat Yogurt to share my four tips on goal setting as well as a fun simple smoothie recipe that helps me feel my best!

I usually pick up the Two Good Strawberry Greek Yogurt 4-pack from my local Kroger because it’s delicious, it has 2 grams of total sugar per serving, it has 80 calories per 5.3oz cup per serving and it’s an excellent source of high-quality protein with 12g per 5.3oz cup per serving. \

Tips for goal setting

  1. Take a look at what worked in the past season and what didn’t. I usually like to have a sheet of paper that has been sectioned in two and on one side write what worked (successful ventures, family accomplishments, tasks completed, previous goals reached), and on the other side, I make a list of things that did not work (activities that added stress, ventures that weren’t as successful as we’d hope, ideas that drained me of my energy). Then I hone down on the things from both lists that I want to improve on and achieve.
  2. Set a SMARTER goal – (Specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, time-bound, evaluative, and revisable) Keeping the above list in mind, I like to take a minute and make sure that my goals for the new season can check off every item on that list.
  3. Break it down. Sometimes goals seem like they’re out of reach, but if they’re broken down into smaller steps, I’ll know exactly what steps to take to arrive at my ultimate goal. This is extremely helpful for me because sometimes I set grandiose goals that feel intimidating. However, when I break the goal down into smaller steps, I am able to see the bigger picture and stick with it.
  4. Write it down. I am a very “out of sight, out of mind” person. If I don’t have a task list, a mission statement, or an objective before me, I will lose all focus and start on something else. Having my goals on a whiteboard in front of me or on my computer desktop keeps the objective in mind and allows me to stay focused.

In order to achieve these big goals, I have to take steps towards making sure that I am feeling my best. This means regular exercise, sleep, and good nutrition. I like to make sure I stock up my fridge with wholesome fruits and vegetables as well as stop by my local Kroger to pick up Two Good Greek Yogurt for my all-time favorite smoothie.

Two Good Greek Yogurt is an excellent source of protein, it’s non-GMO Project Verified and is proud to belong to the Certified B Corporation® community. It also has 80% less sugar than average Greek yogurts* because it’s made with a unique slow straining process that removes sugar from the milk, leaving 2g of total sugar in each cup and with 3g of carbs per cup, it’s even keto-friendly**.

Two Good is on a mission to help fight food waste and food insecurity in the US with every single yogurt they sell. Since the start of COVID-19, the ratio of Americans facing food insecurity has increased up to 1 in 6 people, while one-third of the food produced is being wasted. These devastating statistics have inspired the Two Good brand to take action – that’s why every time you buy a Two Good cup, quart, or multipack, they will help donate an equal amount of food to someone in need in partnership with food rescue organizations***. This campaign is estimated to have a huge impact, with an estimated 37 million meals provided annually and 61 million pounds of food diverted from landfills based on the 2021 forecast!
