The holidays are here and I am planning all of our holiday recipes. This holiday season, we’re counting on Häagen-Dazs Peppermint Bark Ice Cream to bring our favorite dessert to life. These are peppermint ice cream domes and they’re always a crowd pleaser and super simple to make. I love serving Häagen-Dazs ice cream because it tastes amazing, makes any dessert taste upscale and luxurious for less.
This is a simple dessert that packs a flavor punch and it’s small enough to not feel like a heavy dessert. In fact, it’s super decadent and bite-size.
I usually serve two per guests and bring them out with coffee. The contrast between hot coffee and cold ice cream is always fun and a great balance.
I pick up everything I need for this recipe and for all of my holiday entertaining from Walmart. They have amazing prices, quality and I can find just about anything I need for my home. I also take advantage of their pick-up and delivery services, which is perfect for anything frozen because they go right from Walmart’s freezer into my car!
Peppermint Ice Cream Domes
Ingredients
- 14 oz carton Häagen-Dazs Peppermint Bark Ice Cream
- Brownie recipe of your choice
- 12 oz bag of semi-sweet chocolate chips
- Peppermint candy – chunks
- 4 oz unsalted butter (1 stick)
Instructions
These start off with our favorite brownie recipe that is baked onto a sheet pan and cooled completely.
Cut the brownies into tiny squares ( 24 pieces +) and set them on a separate sheet pan with enough space in between each piece – you may have some leftover or you can use a separate sheet pan.
Top each brownie square with a small scoop of Häagen-Dazs Peppermint Bark Ice Cream and freeze immediately for one hour.
Place a 12 oz bag of semi-sweet chocolate chips and the butter in a microwave-safe container and heat at high heat in two-minute increments, mixing in between, until it’s completely melted and combined.
With two spoons, coat the brownie/ice cream pieces with chocolate and set them on a cooling rack with a sheet pan under to catch any extra chocolate.
Add a few pieces of the peppermint candy to the top of the “domes” and freeze until they’re ready to serve.
It takes a little bit of speed in-between steps to keep the ice cream from melting, but once you figure out how to coat the brownie, it’s smooth sailing.
