So much happening around our sunny neck of the woods, but first I wanted to stop and talk about my three musketeers. These three kiddos that made me a mama and drive me cray cray and fill my heart with so much love and happiness.
Grace | 4 1/2 years
Grace is a mama bear around here. She really does take care of her sister and her brother better than I could have hoped for. She’s four, so she has her moments of not wanting to share the spotlight but those moments are rare. She loves arts and crafts and is really good with scissors surprisingly. Lately she has been doing an amazing job at color-blocking her artwork. We pulled her from VPK last week, mainly because she was learning things that we had already covered at home and because the drop off with three kids became really tough on me. She’s not missing it though. We have been keeping her super busy at home practicing her math and language arts skills.
She loves her grandmothers’ food and is really picky about how she eats her cheese sandwiches. She is not really into sleeping in her own bed and sneaks into our bed at night and I only know that because she sneaks her cold little feet and reaches over until they’re right on my leg. I think that feeling us next to her calms her down and helps her sleep better.
She’s my big girl and when she wants to, she really is a great helper.
Haddon | 21 months
This little monkey pushes all of my mama buttons. He is super loving and wants to be held at all hours of the day. He can eat his weight in pasta and loves to help me in the kitchen. I think his favorite part of the cooking process is when he gets to “mis mis” (mix) water in a cup. He also learned how to say “it is” and his favorite word these days is “no”
He is a great boy to put down to sleep. He loves his blanky and pacifier and goes right to bed when he has both in hand. Recently he’s built the best relationship with his dad and gets so emotional when he leaves for work. Also, he sings and on key! Sometimes he starts a movie, sings with the opening song and then rewinds it 5x and sings along. Sometimes he doesn’t even watch the movie.
Emory | 4 months
If you follow along our Instagram stories, you’ll see that Emmy is developing a strong set of pipes. She has a lot to say these days and is certainly standing her ground when it comes to the sharing of attention. She’s really healthy and has stretched her sleep for 6 hours at night which makes me a happy mama. We are hoping to start her on solids this month with some rice cereal and are really excited about seeing all of the milestones as she starts reaching them. She’s really patient with her brother and sister. Grace wants to hold her all the time and Haddon smothers her every time he gets a chance to. She’s the sweetest little girl!
