Alex and I have always talked about going on hikes with our kids. One of the things we prioritize during our hikes are our snacks. It’s so important for us to have great snacks that we bring along to keep us excited about the hike as well make break time much more special. Before hitting the trail, we stopped by Tom Thumb to pick up Town House® crackers, Club® crackers, and Cheez-It® crackers.
Ok. So not only do we like bringing these along but we like to create cracker kits for all of us to enjoy. These are so fun and with a little imagination, they go a long way. We made owls out of crackers, cheese, olives, and raisins and used cookie cutters to cut out stars and moons. The kids had so much fun playing with the owls and eating all of the fun shapes while we talked about our favorite part of the hike. I have to warn you that you can’t just have one cracker. These are so delicious, buttery and fun to eat.
We’re at the point where we now have to time out our outdoor adventures around the kid’s ability to walk and/or if we could carry them on our shoulders. This summer, we got into a really good hiking groove. Haddon and Grace walked, and Alex and I carried Harry and Emory. It really worked for us and we were so impressed at how well all of the kids did.
Getting outdoors with kids can be challenging, but making a plan and stopping to pick up snacks at our local Tom Thumb makes it easier. If we are in a rush, we use the Tom Thumb mobile app to help us pick up Town House crackers, Club crackers, and Cheez-It crackers quickly and efficiently.
We have so much fun hiking as a family and already have a few trips lined up for the upcoming months. You better believe we’ll be bringing along our favorite snack box full of goodies for all of us to enjoy.
