Sundays are fast becoming our favorite day of the week. We are getting into a rhythm at our new church and look forward to taking on the day together.
Alex’s schedule has given him every Sunday off so although we get to spend time together, it is the only day we have to tackle all of our house projects. This week we worked in our backyard planting gardenias, hydrangeas and finishing up some landscaping. We are really excited to see how it’s turning out and look forward to spending as much time as possible out there.
Because we call Sunday a church/work day, I also take a break from cooking. That’s right friends! I know it’s unorthodox to not have a homemade Sunday supper but a long to-do list and a 6 pm Sunday night church service leaves no time for home-made anything. On Sundays, we eat out and there’s nothing quite like Jersey Mike’s cold meat subs! We are huge fans of Jersey Mike’s and make it a point to eat them outdoors. First off, they’re delicious, refreshing and being that we’re outdoors, it’s an easy cleanup. That’s a free mom-tip for you.
The backyard is slowly coming together and we are all about getting out there. The kids have a trampoline and Alex and I have plans for a patio set. We’re also thinking about adding a playground and we’ve started talking about a pool.
Regardless of what we end up doing out there this summer, Jersey Mike’s cold subs are the perfect addition to our backyard summer fun.
